8 Would you rather live in a deep-sea station or a space station?

Space station. No equivalent. I get that the hard-question here is supposed to be about that undiscovered feeling, but even knowing that the sea is so undiscovered, my final answer is still a space station. Space is infinite. The sea is tiny, relatively speaking. I like to look at the big picture like that. We have so much to see!!!

9 What’s your favorite “comfort food” when you’re feeling down or unwell?

My mum makes really good broth. It used to have meat in it, then we both went vegan, but the recipe holds up amazingly. I'll have to ask her to write it down someday so I can always make it for myself and my friends. The original (meat-included) recipe was passed down by my mum's dad and beyond, allegedly.

The gist of it is that it's a broth that can be made easily, with cheap ingredients. But it's delicious, and it tastes like home to me. I came home from school excited to eat it. If you've ever seen Ratatouille (2007) you probably remember that scene where the guy eats the dish and flashbacks. That's me. I'm the child in the kitchen with a scuffed knee. Except the dish in question is broth.

10 What was the last film you saw at a theatre/cinema?

I think it was one of the Star Trek remakes in 2009, or Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland in 2010... It might be something else after that, but whatever it was, it was a long time ago. All I know is, haven't been to the pictures in years. I have one real-life friend who'd want to go with me, and too many other issues, hobbies, and interests to take the time.

I know a lot of film was made for cinema. But I'm a home cinemaphile, I guess? I appreciate how things are shot, I appreciate the sounds chosen, I appreciate the acting. I just really don't want it to be blasted into my eyeballs and eardrums at 90000000000p with DynaHellMaxExplosionSound-X volume. I'm a quiet person, I live my life at a quiet decibel level on average. I take what I need from a film without that cinema experience. I feel more attached that way to the quiet scenes.

11 Have you ever been asked for your telephone number and you didn't want to give it? What did you do?

No. But if I did I'd say "I don't have a phone," while I was clearly/visibly on my phone and making a point of not listening to the conversation.

12 Have you ever had a “crush” on a fictional character?

are you serious. do you want me to spend 50000 hours on this. of COURSE my dude. of fucking course. every new piece of media i'm exposed to i will find the cute and/or hot ones and zero in like a crush-seeking missile.

The only worthy contribution I can give here is that I don't post about them so much any more. I had my fun on Tumblr, I typed out infinite posts on why I loved a character that much, I engaged in fan-made content. I'm a little older now. I don't feel like I need to crow about it as much as I used to, because I already used that space before to help establish my confidence in feeling that way! And that's a totally personal development. If you love a character, crow from the rooftops. Take what you need to learn from them. Understand yourself a little better. I sure did, and still do (less publicly).

I'm 26 and I didn't stop caring about fictional characters, I just already said most of the things I had to say, and the rest I feel confident enough to tell through my own creations. (Did you know I run a webcomic? I do. I'm working real hard on it. It wouldn't exist without me getting emotionally invested in stories before.

I'll be honest, this deviated from the question enormously, but I found it such an obvious and easily-answered question that I didn't want to just give a list of names. If I did, we'd be here all week. So you get this instead. The TL;DR is, of course I did, and it heavily affected the media I produce now.

13 What are your favorite pizza toppings?

IDK. Mushrooms? Mushrooms and BBQ sauce. Fuck pizza, but if I had to choose, mushrooms and BBQ sauce. Hate pizza. Don't like the way the dough is done, don't like the concept of making a vague flat thing and putting perfectly good ingredients on it under heat like you don't know what to do with them, don't like pizza. I like mushrooms and peppers and garlic and stuff. They usually shrivel under the heat in a pizza oven so that they're like the half-arsed raisin equivalent of their original self. Don't like that. Really don't like that. Don't like how the base is just this stodgy breadlike substance devoid of taste too.

Before anyone chimes in, I went on a school trip to France and we went right into the mountains on the border and tasted an Italian restaurant my teacher insisted was REAL ITALIAN. It did nothing for me. I am a cold heart for pizza. Someday I'll end up in Italy again and it will still be a bad food. Give me literally anything else.

14 Who was your very first best friend? Are you still in contact or communication with them?

His name is Adaimia and he's still my best friend. I met him in secondary school. I was a really awkward kid and I really valued having him around, and still do. He's a staple of my life. He makes electronic music now and he supports what I do too. I hope to do podcasting or something with him someday. He's my best friend and always will be, and of course I still keep in contact with him today.

We fell out once or twice. If you ask him, he'll tell you about the time I hit him on the head with a hardback book (he was being moody and I didn't like it because I was an awkward young-teen and didn't know how to deal with other people having feelings back then). We haven't actually argued in maybe nearly ten years. He's someone that I consider a solid part of my life. I'm really introverted, so we don't always see each other every waking minute, but he's someone I could go (and have gone!) months without hearing from and still we'd both be delighted to be in touch again. He's a good man. I don't say that lightly.

15 If you could pick a new first name, what would you choose?

I already did. I'm trans and I picked "Anders". The important thing is to know you can really just be like "ok, call me X" and your friends will do it, because they love you. Sometimes close family or strangers will need a little more time. Maybe they'll never get it. But I'm Anders. My deadname isn't a secret but I no longer introduce myself with that, and so most people in my life call me Anders now. That's who I am.

My family still calls me by my deadname. I hear it every day and I won't stop hearing it for years. That's okay. They spawned me and I deviated, so it's weird for them. But I picked Anders as tribute, because it sounds like the name they gave me, so when someone calls "Anders!" across a room, I will look up, because I'm already trained to hear those sounds. That's my tribute to my parents, I guess. I need to live my life, but I won't ever forget what they've done for me, and that resonates in my head like the sound of your name resonates across a room.

Did this get heavy? I feel like this got heavy. Anyway, eat the rich
